Mission: Empowering children to be the best they can be by providing basic necessities , food and clothing in their schools so that they can focus on their education.
Patti's Pantry was started in honor of lifelong educator, Patti Slaton, an amazing women who was the first face of many children when starting kindergarten at Verner and Rock Quarry Elementary Schools in Tuscaloosa. She was the first touch of love that some children had ever had, she was a child's advocate for many that were lacking in basic hygiene products and experienced food insecurity in their homes. She was a teacher, friend, mentor and loving example of God to many.
Patti's Pantry is a non-profit charity advocating for those children and teens in middle and high school that need a place to get the basic hygiene items and food for themselves and those in their homes. Patti's Pantry pantries are set up in small spaces in schools, stocked with donated food, clothing and hygiene items and are free for students in need to visit.
Our pilot program started August 1, 2022 in Collins Riverside Intermediate School. Patti's Pantries can now be found in Collins Riverside, Duncanville Middle School, Hillcrest High School, Hillcrest Middle School, and Sipsey Valley Middle School.
